An Amp... is an Amp... is an Amp.........Right?
Not so! Trevor advises that there are considerable differences between acoustic and bass amplifiers. It's up to the individual -- how good do you want your band to sound? Getting a different amp for each instrument will produce the optimum sound.
Both acoustic and bass amps are available in a vast range, with widely differing prices. There's an amp for everyone: from the more budget conscious player, to enthusiasts who love top end products. The price differences depend on the features of each amp, and their sound quality.
As a musician, Trevor strongly recommends having one amp for your acoustic guitar, and one for the bass. Bass amps have stiffer cone speakers and different tone controls from acoustic amps. And acoustic amps have higher frequency speakers. In other words, bass amps are designed specifically for the tone of the bass guitar and acoustic amps are built especially to accomodate the needs of acoustic guitars.
In other words, each amp has a speaker system that is compliant with each instrument -- the result: the best sound quality for your band. Music Central: Sound Advice!
